Welcome to our Forge of Empires Innovation Tower Great Buildings Guide!
The model of this Legendary Building is the Jockey Club Innovation Tower in Hong Kong, a building of the university there.
In Forge of Empires, it is a building of the Contemporary Era, and accordingly, it requires goods of that age.
What Do You Need To Build The Innovation Tower?
To build the Innovation tower, you need a road connection, an area of 6×6 and the following supplies:
- 550 electromagnets
- 500 robots
- 200 plastics
- 250 gas
- 250 bionics
As most players remain a bit longer in this very popular era, the required goods are easy to get.
Either you produce these yourself or you trade these in the market.
Usually, there is more offered than demanded which also puts some pressure on the price which is great for those who need these goods.
Thoughts On The Innovation Tower
This great building has 2 major advantages:
- Population: providing population for your city and
- Research: generating Forge Points every 24 hours
To enable the generation of Forge Points, the Innovation Tower must be connected to a street. As for all great buildings a single lane is sufficient.
With its 6×6 footprint, the Innovation Tower is one of the largest buildings in Forge of Empires.
Its construction needs to be well thought out because the space in the city always is limited.
Benefits
Therefore, let’s take a look at its advantages and what they really mean for the player.
Research: Generate Forge Points
Every city can always use additional Forge points.
The benefit of generating additional Forge Points every 24 hours alone could motivate players to construct this building.
However, there are much more efficient buildings when it comes to generating more Forge Points alone, e.g. Cape Canaveral.
Other great buildings combine Forge Points with battle bonuses, which can be even more important than having more population from a great building.
Therefore, from this point of view, a player should first exhaust all more interesting possibilities before constructing this building.
Population: More Population permanently
In the beginning, a player is happy to have a lot of population in a relatively small area.
With this building, there is simply no need for residential buildings.
This ends the replacement of older houses with new houses when advancing to a new age.
Drawbacks Of The Innovation Tower
This sounds really interesting at first.
However, if you complete each of the game’s events, which is highly recommended, you will already have more than enough population after some time due to the very good event buildings.
The additional population through the Innovation Tower is then sometimes even harmful, as it makes quests more difficult that require an enthusiastic population.
If one would like to expand the Innovation Tower more and more eg to receive more Forge Points, the problem of the surplus population would be intensified.
No one wants to fail an event quest because of a huge population surplus.
Therefore, further development of the tower will eventually stop and there comes a point where you are actually ready to build.
You cannot reduce the population provided by this great building once you upgrade it to a certain level, except by completely demolishing the whole building.
No one will then want to tear down such a building again, as already a huge number of Forge Points was invested.
Final Verdict
While this great building of Forge of Empires looks so attractive at first sight, I recommend not to build it as in end game situations it is no longer a good choice.
