Welcome to our Forge of Empires St Patrick’s Day 2023 Event Guide!
The St. Patrick’s Day event was added to the game in 2020 and was extremely controversial from the start.
Some loved it; others not so much.
Many were simply confused by the huge numbers.
Above all, the event was criticized for the considerable amount of time it took to complete.
And finally, confusing was the fact that the event was didactically structured in a way that intuitively did not lead to success when following the game mechanics.
This year, after some minor changes, things look a bit more relaxed unless something changes again after the beta.
St Patrick’s Day 2023 Event Overview
First of all, the event is about collecting as many pots of gold as possible.
You start the event with an initial stock of 200 pots of gold. Then, with each daily log-in, you add another 100 pots of gold.
Each of the 35 instant quests offers a reward of 100 gold pots each.
In fact, I was able to complete the first 5 quests immediately, completely unprepared.
You can prepare yourself, as the quests are, as always, in the first pinned comment below the video.
The following 21 daily quests even bring 150 gold pots each.
All quests are in the familiar framework and can be worked through as usual.
They do not contain any surprising difficulties.
When you reach the milestone for the 20th quest, you’ll get an additional 750 gold pots, and for the 45th quest, you’ll even get another 1,400 gold pots.
Finally, incidents in and around the city occasionally bring another 10, 20, 50, or even 100 pots of gold.
This means that active players can collect more than 11,200 pots of gold by logging in daily and completing the quest series.
Very important: It is not the goal to complete all the quests of a city. The first city can even be completed, especially early. I can only encourage players to do this. However, it only makes sense to complete it when you have at least 1,800 gold pots to buy the boxes and immediately start the second city. Also, be sure to take all the easy tasks from the first city, especially if they don’t cost any pots of gold.
St Patrick’s Day 2023 Event Prize
The main prize of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day event is the Druid’s Hut.
This 5×4 square building is upgradeable to level 9 and then provides daily coins and 3 Forge points.
It also provides a permanent bonus to the attacking army, age-dependent between 9% and 17% on attack plus 14% to 20% on defense.
Additionally, there are two random rewards: Fragments for one of 3 trees and either a coin or a supply accelerator.
Finally, at level 9, the building provides a fragment of an Archdruid upgrade every day.
150 such fragments can be assembled into an upgrade kit, and this can then upgrade the level 9 building into an Archdruid’s Hut.
This then has significantly improved stats again.
The basic level 1 building comes as a milestone reward for completing the 5th quest.
You then receive a total of two upgrades for completing quests 35 and 56.
St Patrick’s Day 2023 Event Mini-game
The so hotly discussed minigame of this event is then the remaining procurement possibility for further upgrades.
There you get tasks, and for every 25 tasks completed, you get a Grand Prize.
The first and then every second Grand Prize is then an upgrade kit.
You can reach the seventh Grand Prize and have another 4 Upgrade Kits.
Together with the two upgrade kits from the milestone rewards, you have a total of 6 upgrade kits at the end of the event.
When you complete a city in the game, you have the option to open 6 crates.
Only if you really open all 6 crates you will get an upgrade kit as an additional reward.
New this year is a discount for opening all crates.
Since only a complete set of crates is beneficial, you should definitely always use the discount.
When completing 4 cities, that’s 4 upgrade kits, so one more than mandatory.
So the event has some breathing room this time.
The pots of gold collected in the game are enough for the necessary managers in the minigame, and to purchase a complete set of crates at least 4 times.
Thus, in this event, you can reliably bring the event building to level 9.
Another upgrade kit is NOT able to upgrade the druid hut to the Archdruid Hut.
This can only be done with the special upgrade kit composed of 150 fragments.
You can get the fragments from the druid hut level 9 in the course of half a year if it is always motivated.
For about 15 euros, you can unlock additional prizes, which also include fragments for the Archdruid Hut.
So if you pay for your impatience, you can have it a little earlier.
Now there are certainly several ways to solve the game.
I firmly believe that completing all the tasks of a city takes too much time.
That’s why my recommendation is to skip selected tasks in the minigame in order to successfully complete at least 4 cities and buy a complete set of crates after each city.
With that, we should all have fun in this event and afterward with an event building that has a little different accent.
